Clearwater Counseling was founded in 2018 with a simple conviction: that high-quality mental health care should be accessible, warm, and free of clinical distance. Our founder spent years working in community mental health settings before opening this practice -- and brought that human-first orientation with her.

We make the first step as easy as possible.
Your first appointment is a chance for us to get to know each other. Your clinician will ask about what brings you in, your history, and what you're hoping to work on - but you set the pace. There's no pressure to share more than you're ready to.
Everything you share in therapy stays between you and your clinician. We are bound by professional ethics and state law to protect your privacy.
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged the full session rate, as that time is reserved exclusively for you.
All of our clinicians offer secure video sessions through our HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. Telehealth is available to clients located anywhere in California.

The easiest first step is to fill out our contact form or give us a call. We will schedule a brief 15-minute phone consultation at no charge so you can ask questions and we can make sure we are a good fit before scheduling your first appointment.
Your first session is an intake appointment. We will spend most of the time getting to know you -- what brings you in, your history, your goals. It is also a chance for you to ask us questions. There is no pressure to share more than you are ready to.
We are in-network with several insurance plans. We can also provide a superbill you can submit to your out-of-network insurer for possible reimbursement. Please see our Fees & Insurance page for the current list of plans we accept, or call us to confirm your specific coverage.
Telehealth sessions are conducted via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. You will receive a link before your appointment. All you need is a private space, a reliable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone. Most clients find telehealth works just as well as in-person for talk therapy.
We ask for at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged the full session fee. We understand that life happens -- please just reach out as soon as you know you need to change an appointment.
