I came to therapy through a winding path -- community organizing, crisis intervention, and eventually graduate school after watching how rarely people in high-pressure careers got real support before something broke. I use Emotionally Focused Therapy with couples and a strengths-based, direct approach with individuals. I have a particular interest in working with men who are learning to talk about what's actually going on -- anxiety that looks like irritability, grief that looks like checking out, depression that looks like just being tired. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and am comfortable working with issues of race, identity, and cultural pressure.
